Fitness Master is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: email address and display name when you register.
- Fitness Data: workouts, distances, durations, lifting routines, sets, reps, and personal records you log.
- Location Data: GPS location during live outdoor workouts to calculate distance and pace. We do not store your raw GPS route — only the derived distance (in miles) is saved.
- Apple Watch Data: heart rate, active calories, and workout session data read from HealthKit. Watch-initiated workouts are synced to your account via WatchConnectivity.
- Usage Data: app interactions collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics to help improve the app.
- Device Data: device type and OS version for crash diagnostics.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core app functionality: syncing workouts, tracking progress, computing XP and levels, leaderboard rankings, and achievements.
- To sync workouts initiated on Apple Watch to your iPhone account.
- To send optional push notifications for workout reminders and streak alerts (you can disable these in iOS Settings).
- To improve the app using anonymized, aggregated analytics.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Firestore security rules ensure only you can read or write your own data.
- Passwords are managed exclusively by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text.
- We enforce rate limiting to protect your account.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account exists.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account screen. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
5. Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting.
- Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In: optional authentication methods.
- Apple HealthKit: heart rate, active calories, and workout sessions are read during live workouts. HealthKit data is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
- Apple WatchConnectivity: a summary of Watch-initiated workouts is transferred to the iPhone app for account sync. No raw sensor streams are transmitted.
6. Children's Privacy
Fitness Master is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
- Access: you can view all your data within the app.
- Correction: you can update your profile at any time.
- Deletion: you can delete your account and all data from the Account screen.
